OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to assessing, treating and managing musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, living with persistent pain, or experiencing stiffness that is affecting your day-to-day life, treatment aims to reduce pain, improve movement and support your return to normal activities.

What I Work With

  • Back and neck pain

  • Shoulder pain

  • Hip and knee pain

  • Sports injuries

  • Muscle and joint pain

  • Sciatica

  • Headaches associated with neck tension

  • Persistent or recurrent pain

  • Joint stiffness and reduced mobility

  • Postural aches and pains

How I Work

Treatment is tailored to your individual presentation and may include a combination of hands-on techniques such as joint mobilisation, manipulation, soft tissue techniques, medical acupuncture, rehabilitation exercises and self-management advice.

Alongside treating your symptoms, I aim to understand the factors that may be contributing to your pain, helping to support both your recovery and long-term management. Where osteopathic treatment is not the most appropriate course of care, or further investigation or specialist input is required, this will be discussed with you and where appropriate, you will be signposted or referred for further assessment or treatment.

What to Expect

The first appointment focuses on assessment. We’ll discuss your current symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and any factors that may be contributing to your pain. This is followed by a physical examination, which may include movement testing, neurological or orthopaedic assessment, and where appropriate, treatment during the same appointment.

Following your assessment, we’ll discuss the findings, agree on a management plan and talk through any treatment recommendations, exercises or onward referrals that may be appropriate.
